Demonomics!

Is demonomics the new will of the people? The changing dynamics of polity, governance, public functioning and socio-economic structure call for an affirmative people-oriented execution of statehood, power, rule and authority that is based on the ‘laws of the people’ and choices that appeal to people's supremacy and rights. Democracy serves this purpose?

The Greek words “demos”, means people and “kratos"”means power; so democracy can be understood as "power of the people"; juxtapose “nomos” means law; so demonomics can be understood as "law of the people". Does it serve any better for the people?

The ‘law of the land’ can best be read in the constitution, the supreme law, which forms the legal principles and lays down the framework of governance of a state. The constitution holds “we the people” supreme while it states the principal that form the organizing principle of a state.

Today, as the socio-economic and political scenario progress under the democracy, ‘power’ seems to have become absolute and controlled, rather than being a force of change. It’s not being commonly begotten for people’s greater welfare, better future and justice, rather monopolized by those who possess it and inappropriately used for smaller interests against the will of the majority. Power of the people in a democracy seems to have degraded its ability and needs to give way to law of the people. A law for people’s supremacy would be much more practicable than to ascertain power for people? So demonomics!

Laying down legal provisions and validation for prioritising – laws of the people, for the people and by the people – shall streamline governance and public rule. Demonomics shall be a guiding force for state functions, administrative systems and policy frameworks.
